Kala cotton, also known as 'Old world cotton' is an indigenous organic variety of cotton that grows is Kachchh region of India. Just like the handloom craft of India, growing Kala cotton is also a family trade passed down over generations synonymous with the craft of Indian handloom. The crop and the weaving of it are crafts practised along side for centuries past. This one of a kind variety of organic cotton is soft but and textured.  It is resilient and resurgent in the face of difficult land conditions, the crop is entirely rain fed. It forms a strong, coarse, stretchable fiber that is often used in denim.
